I think "ribs" are the long bands approx 1-inch wide that constitute
the majority of the seat area. "Piping" may be what you are referring
to.

Also, can we please have no more Ebonics comments on the Alpines list?
Some people find them offensive. (There have been some off-topic
political comments on the Tigers list recently, provoking some mild
flames. Please, let's have none of that here. Thanks.)
