Which wire. The wires are very heavy and take a H of a lot to get hot. 
I would suspect a bad connection between the wire and the lug that 
bolts it to the solenoid causing a lot of resistance.
, or a frayed cable.

Define continuity - the resistance of the starter is VERY low - 
probably not readable. My teacher told me that v=ir, lets see 
12/200=.06 ohms!!!!!!

 See above probably no.
If you are brave AND foolish you could connect some jumper cables 
directly to the starter motor terminal and car body and connect them to 
the battery directly to see if the motor spins. BE CAREFUL not to short 
the terminal to ground thereby shorting the battery, releasing volumes 
of gat and blowing up the battery. Oh yes - I've done it.

Are these non standard headers. With the standard it can be removed 
with a little fun and removal of the clutch slave cylinder.
