Because so few people would likely go to the trouble of retrofitting to
softtop panels and a generator, it sounds like you've got a Series IV. I
assume there's no stock oil cooler fitted.

Have you checked the number on the block? Its located just forward of the
oil filter base. Also, is the SAL # plate still on the car?

Unfortunately, it sounds like you've got a car with a....er...."questionable"
past.
