Hello,
I've recently bought a '65 Alpine that I was told was a Series V. The
registration papers said the body number was 395000327 LRX which is
consistent with an early Series V. However, the ID plate is missing and
so I do not know what the body number is for sure.
It seems the car has more in common with a Series IV than with a Series
V. My car has a non-original 1725 engine, body panels that cover the
convertable top instead of the vinyl boot cover. As well, the engine
has a generator instead of the alternator that Series V's were supposed
to have.
my question is: Do I indeed have a Series V car? Or do I just have a
Series IV car with a 1725 engine?
