Bonjour (ou peut etre bonsoir),

I have recently received my AlpineV workshop manual (I to IV and V
supplement).
I bought it at 'GB Auto Parts' (an English dealer who speak french).
My problem is that the manual do not contain 'general data' section
(with dimensions, clearence...) for the 1725 engine.

If some of you have the same manual, can he tell me if this section
exist ?
(I only have characteristics for 1494 and 1592cc engines).

It's very important for me, because I am refitting my engine,
Restore work on this engine has been started by someone else,
and I have some doubt about this Job.

My main problem, for moment, is on big end of connecting rods.
I red in a book (very serious) that oversize of bearing shells
in big end bore must not exceed 0.005mm and I have about 0.020mm.
(+/-0.005 depending connecting rod).
I measure it, by tightening only one nut on a side, and by measuring
clearence with a feeler gauge between conecting rod
and conecting rod cap on the other side.

So I wonder if I have good bearing shells or good connecting rods ?
If somebody have an opinion about this, I will be happy to read it ?

Ouf!! all that was hard to explain, hope you understand what I mean !

Amicalement,

Fred Saury from Lyon.
Alpine V de 1966.
