Russell and Alpiners,

This whole quest started as a result to a writeup by SAOC to make a big
block
Alpine motor.

It used the large Avenger pistons in the 1725 block. It displaced 1922
ccs.

This is all good and fine, except that stock 1725 gaskets will not
tolerate bores anywhere near the 3.389 inch bore (86.1mm) used by the
Avenger.

Frankly, these people got a gasket from somewhere, and I WANT one.

Just beaating the bushes, but surely somebody knows what was used.

Thx,
Jarrid

The Avenger/Cricket engine was a completely new design in 1970 and owes
no direct connection to the Minx family unit. I would be very surprised
if the head gaskets were interchangeable.

Incidentally, in the early eighties, the 1725 was dropped from the
Iranian-built Hillman Hunters (Paykans) and replaced with the newer 1600
Avenger unit.
