My .02 worth - I checked my Brooklands book last night and the Series
III road reports both indicate 17.2 mph at 1000rpm with Std.
transmission and 21.4 mph at 1000rpm with O/D . Both tests running on
6.00 - 13 tyres! The Series III was the only Series with a 3.89 rear
end for both overdrive and std. transmission. This means at 3000 rpm
with O/D and a 3.89 rear end, you should be ripping along at 64.2 mph.
So, if you are planning long distance motorway cruising - this is what
you need. My experience with this set-up is great and I say go for it!!
