Paul,

The Alpine manual I have lists the standard engine capacity (at) 1724cc. I
know my badges on the car say 1725. Now for some calculations:

Bore
Grade 'A' = 81.539/81.549 mm
Grade 'B' = 81.549/81.559 mm
Grade 'C' = 81.559/81.569 mm
Grade 'D' = 81.569/81.579 mm

Stroke = 82.55 mm

If you have use:

Grade 'A' pistons you have ~ 1724.239 cc to 1724.663 cc
Grade 'B' pistons you have ~ 1724.663 cc to 1725.086 cc
Grade 'C' pistons you have - 1725.086 cc to 1725.509 cc
Grade 'D' pistons you have - 1725.509 cc to 1725.932 cc

It seems like they picked a displacement somewhere in the middle and
rounded it off.
