Hi folks,
1)
Definite baulking ring problem that one is worn, if you can't get any
good ones, you might try this if you are desperate:
Change the baulking ring from first and second to thirt and forth
and the otherway round.
I tried it on an imp and it works great !
Why as the speed difference is much less between the gears !
But off course new ones are the best option
2)
It could very well be the starter selenoid, you might still have
voltage on the starter but not the current to turn it !!!
What usually happens is that the contacts in the selenoid are burned
in causing high resistance.
Just dismantle it and grind off the contacts and put it back together
again.
Just test the starter on the car by bypassing the the selenoid with a thick
starter cable.
Lovely eh driving that Alpine in sunny weather I did it this weekend and
was able to avoid some rain clouds as well.
He guys in California (Sunnyvale area especially)! I'll be working there
shortly for a couple of month so am able to meet you guys and talk alpines
anyone interested ?
I'll be there from about week 26 to 32, will there be any interesting classic
car meetings in that period ?
