I too suspect my tacho is a tad optimistic. Either that or these Alpines are
the
quietest, smoothest, best breathing engine at 4000rpm I have ever heard!
An error of 1500 would seem about right for mine too.
The needle on mine flickers a bit but it's not too bad in that regard.
I would suspect an earth problem. Am I close, people?
Is the tacho mechanical or electrical?

Subject: Bouncy tach
I have several problems with my tach. First off it reads about 1500 RPM
too high for the speed. Secondly, it sometimes just bounces from pin to
pin..back and forth. And then sometimes it does not work at all.
BTW it seems that electrical load has some effect on it also. Like,
switching the lights on will change its behavier. Really weird.. Any
