I watched the thread about the heater control valves about a year ago
before I had my Alpine, so I don't remember the particulars. My control
valve moves but lets water pass through. It appears to be non-serviceable
because the fasteners that close it up don't look removable. Can I
replace the rubber seal? Is there a rubber seal? What year Honda Civic
uses a similar valve? Are the origials still available? Enough already!
My Alpine has only been out of the garage for a couple of trips since it
was only recently made road worthy. After an afternoon of driving around
with my wife, I got a call from a lady down the street. She was all
excited that I had an Alpine. She went on to tell me that she bought one
in 1964 and loved it. The best car she ever had. It really took her back.
She was hoping that mine was her old Alpine (nope). I'm gunna take her out
for a spin after I am comfortable it won't break. It made my day that my
old car could make someone so happy. <snif> :'-)
