Thanks for the responses re MPG and my WIP's. As I wrote earlier I
have not used the Color Tune product. I have always adjusted the carbs
based on performance. I do know that the car has more power than my
Dad's Series IV with single Weber (we have the same tranny and rear
axle ratios) and my brother's '75 MGB. Currently, the mixture screws
are backed out about 3-4 turns. If I get Color Tune and determine that
the mixture is too rich and can't adjust it through the carbs, can I
capture some of this potential energy by installing a more powerful
coil and using a wider spark gap? Please advise.
Also, I have a box full of old WIP parts - approx 6-8 disassembled
carbs. Which jets are made in the different sizes? The long copper one
that come up at an angle through the throat of the carb or the
accelerator jet? I have noticed two types of the latter. Ones with a
long spout and ones with a short spout.
