RE: blown head gasket, silk screening

        Well this test worked well when I had my Alpine. It was blowing
plenty of moistrure out the back plus the REAL tell tail sign was the
light carmel colored foam slime on the inside of the oil filler tube
(Top of valve cover) and underneath the cap, and plugging the vapor
serperator between the tube and the Carb (on series IV).
        My head was warped (no funny comments !!), and the gasket was
shot in three different places. Retorquing the head only slowed it
down. SO I replaced the gasket had the head milled, and did a valve
job. It ran great then. Right up till it melted a piston due to too
much presure and blowby for the old rings to take...
