T.C.? and Alpiners,
> Hi this is T.C. I have been wondering if any one out there has
converted a

procedure.
Steve Alcala has done this with his series II race car. I think he did
some
grafting of a late model rear clip, cuase when he was done, the entire
trunk looked foriegn compared to my series II.

series.

Why would you want to?
The early suspension is the best technically.
It uses solid bushings on the upper and lower control arms,
uses a very durable kingpin and trunnion which eliminates the
lower ball joint.
I have heard several tiger owners using the upper control arms
for purposes of durability.
You can make your own brakes that use later alpine/tiger or the 260Z
pads as a core. This will allow you to select between assbestos, semi
metalic, and full metalic. If you are really ambitious, you can have
some
carbon kevlar pads made to order for around 100 bills.
As for the rear shocks, they are quite good, and unless they are worn
out,
which is rare, they tend to work very well for 30+ years.
Mine are original with new oil, and damp the rear very well.
Most people find the lever actions dont work because the oil has been
lost across 30 years of driving.
