That cat still alive

After replacing those ring gear bolts (Has someone forgotten that item?) I
still have this cat mourning between those gears. It sounds even more
lonesome. And much more loud.

So I must take that differential open again and try to kill it by my own
hands, or let some xpert to deal with it.

I have heard that howling rear axle don't break at once, and I could wait
to autnum to rebuild it, it means 2000 to 4000 miles. Is it so?

And I ask again, has someone put a modern engine/box/saft/rear axle
combination to an Alpine with "easy" work. I think Ford Capri V6 unit is a
bit old nowadays. Any ideas cheaper than Ford Cosworth Sierra/Escort unit?

By the way, midsummer was fine. In southern Finland sun did set, but it was
not dark. And Alpine worked like an idea, tough that cat awoked as soon as
the oil at the rear axle got warm.

I could not get my daughters into Sunbeam, so my women travelled in
Citroen, and I was alone in the cool summerwind.
