Greetings!

Sorry, as I don't have an alpine, I can't offer much advice (unless you've
just blown a seal in your master or slave cylinder..in that case, the rebuild
isn't a big deal at all.) Mostly, though, I just wanted to express empathy for
the 1:1 drive/repair ratio! I got my Humber running (ie. engine turning
without my direct assistance) several months ago. Since then, its been one
nightmare after another. First the brake MC goes..Ok, I fix it. Then the
clutch goes...get that fixed too. Then the water pump blows...order and
replace...then, just as I think that I'm back on the road, my brake servo unit
goes belly up and I find myself burning brake fluid with barely any means of
stopping this five thousand pound beast! Luckily, with a bit of effort, the
e-brake saved the day! Today I pick up my servo unit...$365 dollars
later...I'm afraid to install it because I just know that another part is
waiting in the wings to fail as I happily drive along with that oh so familiar
smug grin on my face that says "I'm proud to be the owner of an old British
car!"

Hang in there, I'm guessing that we're not alone!

Will
