I haven't tried this yet myself, but I have seen it done on another Alpine.
K&N does make a filter element that will work for the CD 150's, part number
E-3211 measures 5-7/8" OD, 4-7/8" ID and 1-3/4 high. You must re-use the top
and bottom metal covers from your old filter and fabricate a couple of
bushings approximately 1-3/4" long for the attaching bolts to go through (or
a little shorter for under-hood clearance, the original filter is approx.
1-1/2" high). The bushings are used to control the distance between the top
and bottom covers of the filter when you bolt it to the carb.

Does anyone know what model of K&N filter, if any, will fit the
Stromberg CD 150?
