Jarrid and All;
It is interesting that certain parts of CA have different regulations as
to what can be used (not sold) on auto bodies. The guy I buy my supplies
from always gives me the disclaimer that I cannot use epoxy primer in the
valley but if I go to Santa Cruz, it's OK. The same with certain types of
paint. Doesn't mean he can't sell them though. Hmmm.....
The paint I was looking at comes from BASF. Two part type paint matched to
Rootes original paint chips. I suspect by the notation that the colors
available were from late 60's vehicles but the numbering system
corresponded with what is on the web page. The name of the paint is
Glasurit and cost about $450.00 for paint alone. I had thought about
purchasing the paint and getting some guys who know my next door neighbor
to paint it for another $500. The key to what paint you use is the prep
work you put into it. No sense putting $500 worth of paint on something
that's gonna rust through in two years.
This guy also sold me metallic bondo. I'll see how it comes out in the
little areas required.
More paint info is available in the archives around Feb 16, 1997.
