Hi all,
I was having a poke around my non-functional temp gauge circuitry on the
weekend, and I *think* I have a dud sender unit. I downloaded the resistance
values from the Tiger web site, and was able to get some movement out of my
temp gauge using a 68ohm resistor. My sender unit measures about 1.5 MEGA
ohms cold and about 0.7 MEGA ohms hot. Can someone confirm that the very low
values for resistance of the Tiger sender is the same as that for the Series
3 Alpine? The sender costs about US$16 from SS, and AU$30 locally, so I'd
like to make sure it's dead before I replace it. Is the Alpine sender common
to other cars of the era? We have a tri*mph supplier nearby, any chance one
of theirs would fit?
Cheers,
Paul.
