OIL PUMP MODIFICATIONS, or do I live with it

Fresh rebuild, new oil pump (british Vict, might be bad quality?)
I dont know why these oil pumps dont product great pressure? has anyone
done anything to increase pressure at idle? 20/50 weight seems too thin
on a hot day, should I switch to a straight 50? How dose a adjustable oil
pressure regulator help? I get up to 80lbs/in, soon after startup but that
drops once the oil is hot, Any help??????? modifications, replacements
