Dear folks,
Earlier series (1-3) seem to have slightly different lid to MK IV, it has a
tighter curve.
My panelsmith had an occasion to see Mk2 and MK5 cars side by side, and
later lid has more vertical section at rear. And, of course, MK5 has no
rounded edges.
My car did a funny thing, it went 2-3 inches narower than it was
originally, and then it bounced back. Boot lid left marks to paint which
show this did happen.
Only thing I can be happy is, that this accident shows that my car is very
solid with no rust. It is very rare in Scandinavian climate.
