in clutches causes problems with the TO bearing due to the different
clutch heights. This is easily overcome by swaping the appropriate
TO fork and TO bearing from the year of clutch that you use.

Yep - been there and done that ! I could not figure out why the
bellhousing would not mate with the engine until I noticed the clutch
housing fouling the the TO housing. I used the lighter fywheel and TO
housing (seriesV) on the 1592 and the 71/2 clutch with no problems so
far.
