I am restoring a 54 Sunbeam Alpine.  I purchased a rebuilt overdrive 
transmission from Sunbeam Spares, 214 Wolverton Rd, Blakelands, Milton 
Keynes, Bucks, MK145AB ENGLAND.  Phone  011-44-1908 610395 from US.  This 
is the spares supplier for STAR--the Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register.   
Colin Mumbray runs the spares supply and has been an excellent supplier 
of parts for my restoration.   To purchase from Colin you need to join 
STAR.  Colin knows everything about Sunbeams of this period.

Since I am in the process of upgrading to an overdrive transmission while 
restoring my Alpine, the transmission  which was in my car has been 
removed.  Since I bought the car non-running, I do not have any 
information about the current condition of my spare transmission--but it 
is available.  When I bought the car it came with an extra chassis and 
powertrain--so I have some additional parts available as well.  I believe 
the same transmission was used in all Sunbeams of this period--but Colin 
or Peter could answer this question authoritatively.  STAR also has 
reproductions of the original parts and service manuals which list the 
parts numbers and could confirm the interchangeability of parts.  I would 
check mine, but I am away from home until the weekend.
