Jim and interested others,
The gearbox casings are the same on all the models however the ratios for
the MK II, IIA, and Alpines MK I and III do vary as follows:
                                MK II MK IIA Alpines
                                                                MK I & III
Top are all 1.00:1
Third 1.49:1 1.49:1 1.33:1
Second (low) 2.47:1 2.47:1 2.19:1
First (emergency low)	3.56:1 3.19:1 2.83:1
Reverse 4.76:1 4.04:1 3.58:1
Overdrive	0.778:1
Also the later MK III gearboxes had needle bearings (vs bronze bushings)
where the input shaft runs in the tailshaft. I rebuilt one this past winter
- lots of fun!
Regards,
Bob
