I got this information from a Rootes Vehicle Identification Manual.

According to an old Vicky Brit catalog I have here at the office (not
the most reliable source in the world), you have a Series III Alpine.
There were 5863 Series IIIs made from March '63 to Jan '64, serial
numbers 9200001 to 9205863. Since your serial number is about 1/3 of
the way through the production run, by interpolation your car was
built around July 1963.
L = left hand drive
R = roadster
X = export
No idea what "SB" is.
The 61 is probably the paint code, "Quartz Blue Metallic", used on
Series III only.
