Venting

Ok, I just want to vent a little here. I have a friend who seems to just
fall into deals. First, was his pristine Jaguar XJS convertible - he got
it for about 60% of market value because it was a friend's father's car
that wasn't being used. Second, was his house right on the beach (and I
mean on the beach) in Santa Monica, fully furnished with decorator
furniture, that he got for a great price because one of his other friend's
parent passed away. Now, one of his neighbors has been parking his cherry
914 in my friend's garage and needs to sell it. My friend is going to buy
it today at half the market value.

Ok, so I wouldn't choose the Jag. I also wouldn't want to live where he
lives with the crowds and bums. And, though I would like to have a 1973 or
1974 914 2.0, I would probably turn down a 1975 914 2.0 because of the
heavy bumpers and smog pump - even at his price. But, still. Why don't I
know anyone with a pre-60's sports car that they want to go to a good home?

I'm done. Back to you normal scheduling.

Jay
