As regards the wobbly dist shaft and cam assy. I must first state that i
am no longer in the Sunbeam repair/restoration and race car business so I
no longer chase sources of parts.
I am the founder of the Classic Jaguar Assn and while we have offices or
repr. in many parts of the world, i leave to others the actual sourcing of
parts and services.
I assume you deal with Victoria British in Lenexa KS (800 255 0088) which
offers the large catalogs of most UK cars as well as non UK cars.
)n their sunbeam catalog page 49, they do NOT show the dist housing itself
as being available. They also do not show the internal bushings in this
housing. Are there any Lucas service stores in the USA????????? Can anyone
post a message quoting the source of this bushing or housing???
In the UK itself I used a specialist firm which dealt in Rootes parts and
they really spoke fluent Rootes. They are:
R J Grimes Ltd
Marlpit Lane, Coulsdon
Surrey, CR3 2YE
England
phone was: 01 668 1455 (6 or 7 or 8; four different lines).
They would ship overseas and their prices were very fair.
They were carrying full Rootes parts lines as well as for the Talbot line
which superseded Rootes name.
I don't know if they are still doing business but they were as late as 1992
so it might be worth the call.
Please post your results here for all the see.
Also I would like to know if Lucas is in the USA selling to the public??
