If you're handy with a torch then heat is the answer. You can go about this
by either just heating the head let it start to cool give it a whack with
the hammer try to loosen or just heat the head from the middle when it is
red hot cut it right off the shaft of the bolt. Then when the parts are
seperated you can remove the remaining stuc with a pair of vise grips. I
guess I'm not concerned about hurting the aluminum, just don't hit it with
the torch and evrything should be fine. If you've aver been in a wrecking
yard this is how they remove drivetrains and seperate the pieces. No
wrenches required just oxygen and acetelyne. Good luck!

Subject: Frozen Bolt

All -Can some one give me some advice as to how to loosen two of the
bolts that bolt the aluminuim bell housing to the gearbox (I have a
spare bell housing which is from a Commer van -identical to an Alpine as
Rootes owned Commer) Unfortunately I can't seperate the bell housing
from the gearbox (which I think is seized) I've tried heaps of
penetrating oil,WD 40 and have destroyed my socket set by belting it
with a hammer. In desperation I tried to drill the heads of the bolts
this morning and 20 minutes drilling made a tiny pit in the head of the
bolt. I guess the next step is to apply some heat my worry is will this
damage the Aluminuim bell housing-Any one any ideas. Thanks. Karl
