British Leyland OD units use most of the parts we do with some very
important exceptions.

The output shaft on the Alpine unit is the splined type like on the STD
transmision. All the british Leyland units use the bolt on flange
output.
Also many BL ODs use a different pump arangement. Instead of the
eccentric/cam type pump, they use a "connecting rod" type affair,
which removes the need for the pumps return spring.

The problem with using parts from the BL cars is that the most
needed parts like the anulous/output shaft are imcompatible.

Bearings, gaskets, valves, cone cluch and solenoids are
compatible though.

BTW, the OD will only drop your revvs, it pulls around 5 horses
due to added friction and pumping losses. This will also leave
you with al lower top speed.

The 25% decrease in the RPM doesnt bring back enough torque
to overcome the loss in engine speed, so the net output power is
lower.

Lower revs, but lower top speed none the less.
