Absolutely!
Holes in same places, gasket is the same, part is very cheap(S.S.).

There is a one way valve in the timing feed, that is supposed to keep
all the gallery oil from leaking down into the sump.
The one way valve doesnt work as a one way valve, but rather
the return spring pushes against the check ball supposedly at
a higher pressure than the head of the oil in the galley.
If the ball, or brass seat is corroded, or dirty, the ball will not
seat, and you lose all your oil as the motor sits.
The next moring, the pump cavitates for a few turns, then has to fill
the volume of the gallery that is now empty befor the galleries
build oil pressure.
This is very bad.
If you have any doubts about this part, replace it.
