Just adding my two quarts to the filter issue.
1.) I have a 87 Saab 9000Turbo, a 92 Toyota Pickup, and the 66 Alpine.
They all can use the PH8 filter from Fram. The cross reference for the
Toyota is PH3643 I think (I'm in Japan right now so I can't check).
2.) In the Perfomance Catalog for Toyota trucks, there is a remote mount
filter setup for the pickup's R22 engine. It should fit the Alpine with no
problem and requires an additional quart of oil. More details next
week if there is interest. It consists of an adaptor plate with oil lines
coming out to a new filter mounting plate. I'm wondering how to put a
cooler in the same line.
Now back to SB42 discussions......
