You will lose almost all of your gallery oil after shutoff because there
are significant bearing clearances. This is normal and ocurrs on all
engines. The good news is that there is not a lot of volume here,
so the pump can overcome the loss very quickly.

The oil is pumped up to the filter, where it exits down through the
threaded hole, and down to the main gallery.

The anti drainback flaper is supposed to keep that half a quart
of oil inside the filter, so that the the pump doesnt cavitate on
the next startup.

The oil has about 12 inches of head on it, and it has only two
paths to take:

1: Uphill route through the filter.
2: Downhill route through the pump clearances into the sump.

Most agree that the latter is the best explanation for the oil
pressure lag problem.

Dont waste your money.
