I have a friend who is trying to restore a Series I - III he bought in
boxes. The car is completely devoid of serial nos. (scuttle plate and
plate behind lh dr. seat have been removed). Also, he has a 1725 engine
which has serial # BO34013166 HLUX on the r.h. block, and cast into the
l.h. block are the nos. 1980959-JJ T-2-66 ( These last 4 cast like a
screw-on engine plate c/w cast screws). (1724 is on block under the ex.
manifold). This engine has a cast-iron head and Series I steel tank on
the waterpump, pressed steel valve-cover and 2 bbl. Solex carb. It is
mated to a '66 transmission with a brace extending from the lower engine
block to the bell housing (which I haven't seen before).

The rest of the parts appear to be std. Series I-II. Could anyone out
there I.D. this engine?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
