I recently bought a pair of the stock exhaust shaped lights from Gary
Schotbus. First I would like to thank Gary and for all the other parts
vendors for taking the time to get these rare parts into the hands (cars) of
people who really appreciate them. Thank you for taking the TIME to track
down these parts which few people realize is the reason that some of these
parts cost so much. It may only have cost $20 for the part but 5 hours was
spent locating it or removing it (Like a crankshaft).
The second comment is on the reversing lights. I have found that I have
seen three different styles. One in which the "exhaust pipe" ring and base
are one cast piece. A second type where the base and ring are separate cast
pieces and a third in which the base is cast and the ring is made from rolled
over steel with a seam. On the back of one I found the name "Sporto". This
sounds like a company. Does anyone have any information on this company?
Also if other owners of these reversing lights could give me some feed back on
the styles they have, maybe we can get a clear picture of the changes that
were made over the years they were offered. I am also very interested if
anyone else has a base with a company name on them. Thank you you your help.
