The second comment is on the reversing lights. I have found that I
have
seen three different styles. One in which the "exhaust pipe" ring and base
are one cast piece. A second type where the base and ring are separate cast
pieces and a third in which the base is cast and the ring is made from
rolled
over steel with a seam. On the back of one I found the name "Sporto". This
sounds like a company. Does anyone have any information on this company?
Also if other owners of these reversing lights could give me some feed back
on
the styles they have, maybe we can get a clear picture of the changes that
were made over the years they were offered. I am also very interested if
anyone else has a base with a company name on them. Thank you you your
help.

Tom,
My series I has backup lights installed. They are actully 3-piece. I sent
mine to be rechromed this fall. Two pieces are chrome plated pot-metal with
the outer most tube beveled. The unplated 3rd piece holds the bulb. I didn't
notice any markings on the chrome pieces and the bulb base only says "Made
in England" I'm expecting the plater to call any day now for me to pick up
the parts. If you want, I can take a photo to send you when I get them.
