No, the side plate oil is at crankcase pressure, which is only slightly
above ambient.
If you have a non PCV car, suspect that your crankcase vent tube is
blowing a ton of oil vapour due to blowby.
If you have an PCV car, suspect the PCV hose is disconected.
In either case, verify that the oil filter or base is not leaking
as It is underpressure.
