Tell us where the oil is pooling.
Oil that pools on the head or inside the sparking plug tubes
normally comes from the rocker cover gasket.
Oil that runs down the right side of the block, but not from the head
is normally from the side cover, but keep in mind that there are
several oil galley plugs, and the oil pressure gauge line on that side
of the engine too.
Other things to check would be the filter base and cooler adapter,
as well as the distributor mounting which has an o-ring as a seal.
Earlier engines had the ignition coil mounted on the head, which
is tapped clear though and can also leak.
Take your car to a auto car wash, and use thier hot degreaser to
remove the oil. After its all clean, start it up, and watch where
the fresh oil comes from.
Hope this helped.
