I pulled the thermostat housing and water pump off of my Series 5. All of
the fasteners I removed were bolts (except for 1 stud). One of the holes
for the thermostat housing bolt (in the head) is semi-stripped and appears
to go into a cavity within the head some where. I can stick a screwdriver
pretty far into the hole.

Concern 1) Rick at SS says he thinks these should be studs, not bolts. Is
this true? (Where can I get new studs)
Concern 2) How do I fix the semi stripped hole in my head (don't go there!)
Concern 3) Should this hole lead to to "chamber" inside the head? Or do I
have some piece broken off inside?

Thanks,
I'm looking forward to working on the car over the Holidays. There must be
something wrong with me.

Chris
