Hi Chris,
I just go my Series V head back a few weeks ago and you're right, those
should all be studs. As far as where you can get them ??? I got mine
from Smitty's Sunbeam in San Diego. I also had a problem with stripped
threads, on my Strombergs and on my engine block. I used Heli-Coils to
fix them. Those things work great and I have a friend that used to build
drag motors that says the are the way to go. You can get them in
standard sizes from Pep Boys or your local auto parts. The fine thread
stuff you might have to special order but you can get them. Sorry can't
tell you how deep that hole should be.
