Re: Master C. Spacer

I initially thought I'd try it that way. I used an old MC to shave off as
much as I would need to. I was just worried after shaving off enough metal
that I was risking messing with the integrity of the strength of the MC,
especially since the area that was shaved was directly in line with the
direction the fluid was being pushed - and where the company put in
reinforcements (either that or excess molding material). Anyway, when it
came down to it, I was worried about messing with the brakes. It was for
the same reason that I did not like the set up I heard someone else is
running - mounting the MC on the passenger side and using a cross over bar
to rotate the push rod.

That being said, I would not mind going back to the stock MC, with the
larger bore, if I was convinced it was safe. I am running a smaller bore
without the servo. I'll have to measure the space. It could be a
Weber/Mikuni difference that just does not give me enough room in any
event.

I think the real answer is to do what Steve Alcala did - install a whole
new set up using brake and clutch master cylinders that go inside of the
car, using the dual brake MC that is required for some racing events.

On my dual weber setup, I removed the spacer, and had only to
shave about .075 off the end "frontward" of the master cyl to gain
excelent clearance to the carbs.
I also had to relocate the reservoir, and used a SV plastic one
that mounts higher than the SII.
I am currently using Mikunis, so this may not be the case
with defacto webers.
