My understanding is that the Hunter was the only Rootes product to be assembled in
Iran. Any previous exports would have been fully built up. I believe the Paykan
name is still being used, but the current model is a Peugeot 504. When Peugeot
took over Chrysler Europe, they got the contract with Iran too.
I imagine there are still warehouses full of Rootes spares there to keep their
cars on the road. Somehow I doubt Iran would have a very modern fleet of cars.
Just be careful you don't wind up with Peugeot parts by mistake. If you have web
access, do a search on Paykan. I did this a while back and it was quite
interesting.
