A few years ago one of the cleanrooms at work was unavailable, seems 
that the fire supression system was being replaced.  As best as I can 
remember the existing halon based system was being replaced due to a 
concern that soon the halon (which had been dramatically rising in 
price) might soon be unavailable at any price.  As I recall halon was no 
longer being produced (ozone depleting material) and the existing stocks 
were running low.
