So are you now saying that it did NOT blow a rod, but broke a valve instead? Makes a hell of a noise dosn't it !!

Don't shave the head have the divits filled in at a decent aluminum welding shop, then reshape the chamber to match the good ones., then mill as little as posible to clean up the surface. Should work. This ofcourse assumes that there was no serious damage to the valve seats, guides, rockers, push rods, etc. The pistons should probably be changed due to compression cracks, or spreading of the crown due to the impact with the various valve bits and pieces.....I know I'd change them..
