Last time around I got the membership form all filled out, did up the envelope, and went to the bank to purchase what used to be called an International Money Order, or some such thing. I used to get 'em for six or seven bucks to send in my STAR dues back before Peter Woodall started collecting U.S. dues in dollars for us. Well, apparently the "benefit" of my bank being sold, then sold, then sold . . . is that such an instrument now costs approximately the same as the dues. Thus I remain a loyal SAOC non-member.
