A while back someone asked about the correct size for a _late_ series V
fan belt. The one I got from Sunb. Spec. (Goodyear 15382) listed it was
for ser I-IV, but I gave it a try anyway. It failed. The no-name
replacement one I got from the local chain store is a tight fit but
lists compatibility with:
Dayco 15380
Gates 7380
Goodyear 13381/15386
Napa 25-09653
Now that the belt is replaced there is a terrible squealing noise that
sounds like the earlier description by Jarrid of <snip>Rattles or noise
means the bearings have worn or worse, squealing
can mean that the impellor has worked off the shaft and is touching the
casting.</snip>, or just a new belt working its way into the grooves.
Hmmm?
