Sorry, but I don't have the actual car to refer to so I am referring to my parts
manual. The Series III control shaft should have two (2) holes. Hope this helps.

Subject: Zenith throttle rod - help please

Alpiners,

Can someone with a Series 3 with the twin downdraught Zenith carbs
please help me out with a query. (Scott, Kurt hello)

I'm interested in the linkage which goes alongside the carbs, the long
rod with the ball on one end. At the end near the firewall there is an
arm (1/2" wide, 1/8" thick) coming off this rod which connects (via an
adjustable rod) back to the 'gas' pedal. Can someone tell me how many
holes there are meant to be in the arm? I have two *giant* holes in mine
and wonder what purpose the second hole might have.

------------------------------------|-|--------.
       rod | | | firewall
------------------------------------|-|--------.
                                    | |
                                    | |
                                 arm| | <- should there be
                                    | | another hole here?
                                    |-|
                                    | | <- hole for linkage
                                    |-|
                                    |_|

(BTW - Series 1 & 2 owners - I think your linkage is different so don't
panic.)

Cheers,
Paul.
(scale, what's that?)
