I am looking for some information. I went to the Oldtimers auto show in
Ciney, Belgium today. I saw two cars that really interested me. The
first was a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine V. The car looked real good but there
were minor things like the pentastar was painted over, a tail lamp lens
was broken, the windshield looked like the wipers were operated without
blades(deep scratches), the drivers door did not closes flush, pitted
bumpers. In short the car was not cherry but it did look good. The
owner is asking BF 345,000 about $9800. Is this high or is it in the
ball park? I could not drive it or even hear it run.
The second interesting vehicle was a Talbot Sunbeam Lotus. It has a 2
liter Lotus engine but that is all I know about it. Does anyone have
any information on these cars or can you direct me to a source for
specifications, car tests etc.? I know that the Sunbeam Lotus was a
very competitive rally car in the late 70's early 80's but not much
more. This appears to be a street car although it is well used as any
20 year old factory performance car would be. I am looking for
something interesting to slalom over here a this looks like it could be
interesting.
