	I am sorry to hear that you had trouble with walnut shell blasting
your car.  I use a local company (but the best one in Sacramento) and the
job came out great for $400.  I was horrified to see how much rust and
bondo the paint was covering.  Stripping a car is not for the weak of
heart.
	Along the thread of modifying cars, I bought a car that had blown
its second engine and had been greatly abused.  I have a 1725 motor in it,
but I managed to get all the original externals back on the motor,
including the mechanical tach.  I found larger choke tubes for the Zenith
carbs and bigger jets.  I will be installing a Volvo OD with and MG B
driveshaft next winter.  (Didn't get around to it this past winter.)  The
modifications that I have made came out of neccessity in putting a car
that should have gone to the crusher back on the road.  I would imagine
that most people who plan of heavily modifying a car purchased cars that
were similar abused.  There is no point in spending a lot of money for a
correct car only to throw most of it away.  I encourage people to salvage
cars that are otherwise destined for the junk yard and believe that very
few correct cars are being modified.
