While I am on the subject my opinion on this debate is to save any car that is and can be kept original .however if the car would require major replacement components anyway then maybe V6 engines and 5 speed trans etc would not be such a bad idea. I do prefer the original look and I am not talking about over restored cars with mirror like paint jobs on the bottom and every engine part polished to within an inch of its life. I am referring to the car you might see driving past you that looks as if it could have rolled out of the dealers show room that day.[ You remember the car dealer you used to go by and check out the new models .The dealer that went out of business some time in the late 70's or early 80's the golden years of automotive design .Remember the Chrysler K car and Dodge omni to name a few ] The car that makes you feel like its 1967 all over again. With all that said I think it would be an absolute crime to take a complete and solid classic car and treat it like a project for Dr. Frankenstein.
