Correct. Except that the reduction of the alpine unit is 0.8 and the Volvo unit is 0.75. For those following another thread, the D type overdrive has the solenoid on the passenger side (for those of us living in the Americas) and has 3 hex plugs on the bottom for access to the internals. On the J type, the solenoid is on the drivers side and the bottom has a ribbed access cover plate.
